So much time has passed and so much to write about not sure where to start... well like a TV show that says, previously on .....
We finished off our outdoor season with two ties including one against McGill at their field which was great. During CIS nationals in November, we held our first tryout camp for the 2011 FISU games and we had 39 athletes attend which is a 50% boost from when we started the process for the last games.... seems that the visibility of the team and the interest to be part of it has grown. We started indoor in January and through 4 games we have a record of 2W, 1L , 1T. Most notable I would say was the tie vs UQAM (2-2) when we played almost 40 minutes with a player short and actually scored our 2 goals during this time... and then we followed it up with a 3-2 win vs. Laval, only the 2nd time in 15 years that Concordia has between Laval at any level of competition. There seems to be a change happening with the mind-set of the players and while there is still lots of work to do, we can obviously see that the level of competitiveness and expectation has changed and players are willing to put in the time and compete to earn their playing time. Hopefully this isn't a blip and will continue on. We continue to work hard on recruiting although I am foregoing my annual trip to B.C. and focusing more on Quebec based players but we have gotten interest from players from a different areas. As of today, we actually have already gotten 9 applications from out of province players plus about 6 from local.... I will try and be more regular in posting... we play McGill this weekend so I will see my mood after the game
